Hotel Lolita Tea Party & Convention Center Photos - part one

Yesterday I had the pleasure of going to a Lolita Convention in my home city of Buenos Aires!

Hotel Lolita is a wonderful event, and, just like it sounds, it's done in an old hotel of Buenos Aires, called Hotel Bolivar. It included a coffee shop, professional photography set, local shops, and even a video conference with Mexico Lolita Ambassador, Daniela Michel!

I have a LOT of photos I want to show everyone. So let's get right to it!

Due to the nature of the event, there were local shops that participated in the convention. If you see your brand/shop pictured, feel free to borrow the pics! But please, do link back to Kawaii Sheepie <3

First, of course, some sneak-peak/teaser photos of my coord <3

"Let me take a selfie" *funky music* *música loca*

I arrived promptly and started looking around the little shop stands. SO MUCH KAWAII STUFF for sale!!

Little Tokyo, L.A. Haul & Fairytale Boutique - Kawaii and Lolita haul, LIZ LISA Special Collection 2013 Mook

Hi everyone! Long time no see!

I promised I wouldn't start a blog post like that ever again. But this time, I kinda have to.

Hope you've been fine. Me? Busy with college, mostly, but also took a time-out from boring routine to have a little vacation!

May have missed a class or two but eh, it's all good. God, I really want this semester to be over...

I went to Orlando, FL, Los Angeles, CA and Disneyland. Yayyyy! So happy!

So today I'm blogging about Little Tokyo in LA. Which, of course, was my favorite part <3 So I'll be going over what I bought there!

To be this far into a post and still no picture is an outrage. So let's get started.

 A sneak-preview of my haul!

Overall, I found Little Tokyo to be a paradise. I only wanted to go because I knew about Fairytale Boutique, but didn't quite imagine what I was going to find there.

Much to my surprise, it was Japan heaven, full of Daiso-like goodies, origami paper, traditional cutlery, Japanese food, kawaii galore, make-up and clothes.

I wish I could live nearer places like this!

First part of the haul: make-up!! From various Japanese make-up shops. I was so in shock I forgot to even take pictures. I was teary-eyed like "OMG I never thought I'd see all of this again mommmyyyyy ;____;"

They sold everything, from eyelashes, blush, Dolly Wink, some Canmake, Palty hair dyes... pinch me.

(So cheap, but look so cute!)

(Diamond Dolly 17. I thought these were a good deal. On sale and including Lash Fix! Yay!)

(Dolly Wink Eyebrow Mascara 1 Milk Tea, exactly the one I wanted! *insert success kid*)

And this was just serendipity! I totally never expected Japanese import stores to appear everywhere while searching for Fairytale Boutique. I know this is kind of what one should expect of a Japan Town. But I'm a hillbilly OK.

Then!!! I finally found Fairytale Boutique. And I bought everything ;_; *happy tears*

I have to really congratulate the shopkeepers! They were really nice and also threw in a lot of gifts in my bag! Including those amazing Automatic Honey Halloween pins you see above, as well as a postcard, a bookmark, candy, Automatic Honey stickers, and Fairytale Boutique pins.

Now I get to show off my shopping! <3

The new LIZ LISA & My Melody Special Collection 2013 Mook. When I saw this, I remembered why LL is one of my favorite brands. And it came with the cutest reversible tote bag, too!

Yes! It has a My Mero side and a LIZ LISA side.

Inside, the mook featured the LL girls (LIZ LISA staff from shops across Japan), and Reina Triendl, who had her own section, of course. I really like Reina as the face of LL - she's so perfect!

But hat's off to all the LL shop staff that work so hard and are so fashionable!!

A big trend in nails was "Maerchen" (メルへン), which means fairytale in German.

I have to admit, I loved the little gifts just as much as I love what I bought, lol. They really outdid themselves!

Automatic Honey's Orion's Spell cat stickers. In love with these illustrations!

But of course, the best for the last!! There is a tiny little thing that I also bought @ the Fairytale Boutique.

Angelic Pretty's Triple Tart! GET!!!

This was a print that I fell in love with the instant I looked at it. It just looks so yummy and delectable in real life! What with all the whipped cream, burnt merengue and berries!

AP's custom lace makes me cry happy pink tears. That's how badly smitten this has got me.

Some print close-ups, and that's it! I hope you enjoyed my haul! <3

Almost forgot! Just outside Fairytale Boutique there's a cosplay and costume store with some purikura machines in it! Here's the purikura I took, featuring the future kawaii girls, my two little sisters!

I'm well behind with reading all of your beautiful blogs but just leave me a comment and I'll get right to it! :3 of course, if we share interests I will follow you back!

Thank you for reading and commenting, kiwis! Just to have to visiting this blog makes me infinitely happy! Please stay tuned for my next update!

ModCloth Uniquely You campaign

Hello everyone! Great news!

I've been invited to participate in ModCloth's Uniquely You campaign.

The idea is to build an ensemble around the image of an article clothing or accessory by using up to seven other pieces from ModCloth!

The winning outfit will be picked weekly and displayed on ModCloth's Polyvore page.

The central piece this time is the Mint Cute Dress! So let me show you what I came up with:

I had such a fun time doing this!! While browsing through ModCloth, it was very hard not to buy the whole store!!

My theme was Mint and Tan Colorblock, with a cute twist!

Wearing your little dresses with scarves can help you transition into fall.

What do you think? As for me, I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with! Thank you, ModCloth, for this opportunity!

Classic Lolitas in the Recoleta Cemetery - Friday the 13th Special Post

Hello everyone! How's your pet-a-black-cat break-a-mirror day coming along?

Me? I could only get my hands on a certain calico kitten. But I've broken mirrors in other occasions so all good.

Let me tell you about a lolita meet-up I went to the other day! <3

The theme was to wear classic lolita, if possible. We visited one of the most famous cemeteries in Buenos Aires, the Recoleta Cemetery.

This was my coordinate for the day:
Este fue mi coordinado del día:

I could incorporate my brand new dress into an actual coord. Yay! Wearing a new dress out is a wonderful feeling. I don't know how classic my outfit actually was (I'm really bad at telling the difference between lolita substyles, I consider them to be sort of ambiguous), but at least the grey, black and gold matched the mausoleums.

Yeah, leave it to me to worry about blending in with the tombs... sometimes I wonder if I can get any more obnoxiously vain? I'm so sorry .__.

Perdonenme, gente .__.

Aaand another angle.

Coord rundown:
Headband: Cultivo Diseño
Cutsew: Offbrand
JSK: Baby, the Stars Shine Bright Alice's Mirage in Paradox White Queen JSK in Black
Cardigan: Juicy Couture
Bag: LIZ LISA
Socks: Tutuanna
Shoes: Zara
Bow brooches on the shoes: Vintage

I was so proud of my full coordinate (;^;) It might not seem like much but I definitely don't have all the lolita basics yet so I have to make it work with regular clothes... That Juicy cardigan is perfect, it even has bows on the sleeves! But because it's all black, you can't see that well.

I was really reluctant about the bag, though. I don't mind it in other people but I have a personal policy of not mixing black with chocolate brown (this is the stupidest thing, I know). But Misako Aoki had done it too so I ended up not feeling so bad.

My make-up was OK but I wish I would've had time to add bottom false lashes. Also I love my headband because it has that antique, rusty feel, like the crumbling statues of the cemetery that you'll see in just a moment.

Some of the lolis strolling by the cemetery! Sadly we could not really stop for pictures because "photoshoots" are not allowed. Basically if you go dressed like anyone else it's fine, but when they saw us in lolita they came to warn us about taking pictures :c dang them.

We took a few anyways. Well, I did. YOCO. You Only Camwhore Once.

But let's see the wonderful cemetery! I think it's so tragically beautiful.

Me parece tan trágicamente bello.

Nature doing her thing on the tombs' structures. The one above particularly reminds me of Disney's Haunted Mansion, which I am a huge fan of. I guess I really like the gothic aesthetic and finding beauty in death in general. (disclaimer: yes, I had family members die, and didn't find any beauty in that, mind you... I'm just talking about a general or maybe even architectural perspective)

And of course:
Y, por supuesto:

Yes I took selfies inside. I might be the worst person ever. If any ghost is haunting me right now, I swear I meant no disrespect. In my defense though, in most pictures I was just trying to capture the inside of the mausoleums and failed. Do you think I maybe captured a spirit in one of the pics? Oh, man, that would be so cool! Help me look and tell me if you see a ball of energy or something! :)

( / total paranormal activity nerd)

Alas, it got late and I had to go back to do some really fun things for college, yay! *sarcasm* One confession, if I wasn't so close to graduating, I don't think I would still be in college. It's literally draining all my energy and I'm so sick of it...

I hope you liked my spooky (?) post and classic coord!
