What is that in the distance? Don't let's be silly(*), I knew exactly what it was. When I first started planning my Japan trip, which of course, being the Disney freak that I am, included Tokyo Disneyland, I spent hours analyzing the park maps, where to eat, etcetera.
Suddenly I came across the name of a "buffeteria", i.e. another meal option in TDL, called "The Queen of Hearts Banquet Hall".
I called my boyfriend over and spazzed: "Please, please, please let us go there, I need to eat in an Alicey restaurant INSIDE of Disneyland, I don't care how much it costs to eat there, I swear I'll pay for it".
Anyone would have agreed under those conditions, lol. So, the day we went to Tokyo Disneyland, we ended up having dinner at the Queen of Hearts Banquet Hall.
This is part of the Eating in Japan series, but I thought it deserved an individual post because of how important Alice in Wonderland is to me!
(*) before you attack my seeming lack of grammar, refer to this.
How cool is this place?! Made to look like part of the Queen of Heart's court, you can even see the hedge maze spreading in the background. And poor Mister Three is still painting the roses red, lol.
Stepping inside! Please take a look at my tourist ensemble, lmao. Minnie scarf, Minnie pass-holder, two or three gift bags, Cheshire Cat popcorn souvenir box, and Haunted Mansion maid Minnie ears. I don't know how I managed to walk with all that on me!
Le food. It was very good. Nothing extraordinary but yummy. At least the meat tasted like meat. I had forgotten what meat tastes like. (biased Argentinian who likes nothing but good meat here)
My boyfriend ordered some battered seafood variety. He said it was delicious.
Had random dessert because SOUVENIR CUP OMG. Please take a good hard look at the Queen's heart-spangled bloomers HAHAH
My boyfriend said to me, "Would you like to go take pictures around the place? Sit still while I set up the camera's colors". So I kept still. He took this picture while configuring the camera. It's not the best face, but considering this was the evening of a really hard day (too cold, too much walking, queues too long lol), it's not bad.
I am le worst photographer so please bear with me. Here we have Cheshire looking crazier than ever.
There was this huge vitraux in one part of the restaurant. So pretty!
Half a cup, please.
Specially for an Alice in Wonderland fangirl such as myself. The whole place is so amazing you really feel like you've transported into a whimsical, surreal otherworld.
