Whispering Canyon Café

Above: Mysterious Mickey rock formation! haha

Beautiful Whispering Canyon Café is a family-oriented restaurant located in Disney World's Wilderness Lodge, an ode to the American wild side and native terrains and inhabitants. And although it is a Whispering Canyon, not a lot of whispering is done there. You are served by crazy hosts and hostesses that scream and shout while bringing food to your table. They remind you of that part of your family who lives in the countryside and is, uhm, a little rough on the edges.

Fits this southern-cooking restaurant well, though.

You are served big casseroles of beans, chicken, coleslaw and BQQ ribs, and are urged to order more if you need anything. I'm told that if you say you are a little thirsty, they will bring a huge, vintage glass bottle to your table. When I say huge, I mean huge. That thing must have like a gallon worth of liquid, lol.

But putting that aside, the food. Ohhh the food. I would really recommend doing a hotel dining Disney experience to anyone, even if you are not staying in a Disney hotel.

In the WC, order the buffet option. Don't settle for less. Trust me.

You will be first be greeted by this lovely corn bread and margarine spread. Try to get a hold of yourself! More food is coming. And they won't let you be hungry!

... I'm hungry already. I just love Southern-style cooking. I guess that's why I'll never be stick skinny! lol

Even the children menu looks tempting! Though I'll admit, similar kid's menus are served throughout Disneyworld.

After you are done eating, and if you can still walk (lol), enjoy a campfire story or stroll by the erupting geisers outside.

I don't usually like wilderness, but if there's food and pathed roads, hey, I'll take it! :D

Have you ever been to Wilderness Lodge?
